Anastasia Brokelyn

Reading, music and room to explore

In her 2021 interview, Brokelyn described the books, music and small changes of scene she enjoyed outside a working schedule.

Books that hold her attention

Brokelyn described reading as an activity that absorbed her more easily than watching a film. With a book, she said, she could build the images in her own mind. Her reading choices included personal development and questions about money and financial understanding.

She named Tony Robbins among the authors she read. Personal, emotional, financial and spiritual development were the areas she returned to when discussing what interested her. These preferences describe her reading at the time of the interview; they do not imply a professional credential or an endorsement of any method.

Different music for different moments

Her musical tastes were broad: music from the 1980s, rock, pop, reggaeton and classical music all appeared in her description. She did not name one style as suitable for every occasion. Instead, she chose sound according to the moment and what she was doing.

In the examples she gave, mornings could begin with birdsong, getting ready might be accompanied by reggaeton, and a walk could have a rock soundtrack. At night she preferred something meditative. Music was part of the daily rhythm she described, with space for both energy and quiet.

Finding a change of scene

Exercise, good food and occasional evenings with friends appeared among the interests she discussed when first interviewed in 2019. Travel was another attraction, together with the opportunity to meet people whose experiences could help her learn something new. Those interests existed alongside the demands of a new career.

In 2021 she also described the pleasure of wandering without a fixed destination and discovering where she had ended up. It was a less scheduled counterpart to her carefully organised workdays. Her interviews leave room for both habits: planning the practical tasks and allowing curiosity to shape time away from work.
